Project: Budleigh Salterton Cricket Club
Location: Budleigh Salterton, Devon
Contractor: GD Construction Solutions
Product used: HO924 Natura Vulcan Grooved
Budleigh Salterton Cricket Club, a renowned sporting hub located in the picturesque Devon coastal town of Budleigh Salterton, has recently been relocated from Ottermouth due to suffering from season flooding for years.
The Environmental Agency’s £15m Lower Otter Restoration Project to return the area to a more natural state has allowed for the relocation and complete development of this much-loved purpose built cricket club.
The relocation brought the opportunity to start from scratch and create a stunning purpose-built hub that meets all of the specific needs of cricket club, whilst also acting as a social hub for the wider community.
This two-story development allows for sports and changing facilities on the ground floor and a large entertaining and social space on the first floor. The stunning raised balcony gives a 180° panoramic view across the two cricket pitches with views all the way out to sea – the perfect place to enjoy a summer afternoon.
For this project, the client was looking for a low maintenance, highly durable decking solution that could withstand the high foot traffic – this is where Trekker comes in.
The installation of Trekker Composite Decking brought a transformative change to the Budleigh Salterton Cricket Club pavilion. The Natura Grooved boards in Vulcan added a touch of sophistication to the structure whilst ensuring resistance against the elements.
